Frequently Asked Questions

Levels, progression

How long does it take to complete a level?

It depends on your mother tongue, learning speed and personal engagement. However, an average of:

A1 to A2: 120 hours
A2 to B1: 150 hours
B1 to B2: 200 hours
B2 to C1: 250 hours
C1 to C2: requires a linguistic improvement (variable hours)

Is the group system flexible enough so I can progress at my own pace?

Absolutely. Groups are not closed so you move on to more advanced group if you have progressed faster!

What level is required to work in a foreign language?

C1 is the level required in order to work within a foreign language environment.

Diplomas

Can you help with diploma preparation?

Yes. We can help with all diplomas. We adapt our techniques to all levels and types of diploma, with a personable understanding of your objectives. We will set-up a schedule to make sure you ready in time for your exam.

Do I receive a diploma when I complete my level?

When you complete your level, we will give a level certificate. We do not, however, deliver official diplomas. You can get these though examination centres in Switzerland, Germany and France.

Courses schedule, packages, cancelations

When can I start to join a group course?

Immediately, as long as your level matches with an existing group. Complete beginners have to wait for a new group to start.

Do I loose my course if I can’t attend?

If you are in a group, yes. For private lessons, we can reschedule the lesson.

Monthly packages - How does this work?

Semi intensive group classes are automatically renewed if you do not sign off (at the latest until the last lesson). How do I sign off ? Please send an email to the school.

30 or 50 hours package - How does it work?

If you buy a 30 hours package, you can use it for a period of 6 months.
If you buy a 50 hours package, you can use it for a period of 9 months.

Within these packages, you can use your hours as you want, intensifying or slowing down the frequency of your lessons. Regularity is, however, a recipe for success!

Teachers

Are your teachers qualified?

All Elo teachers are fully qualified and continue their training within the school.

I don’t get on with my teacher, what will happen?

Do not wait, simply talk to the direction.

What is your teaching method?

We have developed a method based on direct communication, using practical situations. We believe that languages should be learned in an interactive way. It’s easier, more fun and simply results in a much deeper connection with the language.

When is the school closed?

The school is closed for 2 weeks, during the christmas festive period.
